The Black Cypress

Getting its name from one of the toughest little bayous in the piney woods region, the Black Cypress is a fighter.

The Black Cypress River isn’t a tourist spot or even a weekend retreat. She is a river bayou that snakes her way through 23 miles of wilderness, connecting small lakes and tributaries to the Big Lake Bottoms. 23 miles doesn’t seem like a long way but the Black does it the hard way–through tight bend and shallows littered with alligators, fallen trees, and beaver dams. If you want to roam the Black, you better be down for anything and have the tools to get you through.

The Black Cypress Tanto Fighter is just the knife for the job. With a full 1/4 inch thick 1095 high carbon steel blade deferentially hardened to give chopping power as well as edge-holding ability, the Black Cypress is a fighter ready to take on any challenge. The edge geometry, bevel design, and tip alignment make this knife a universally adept cutting tool. The Black has a robust cutting edge that wraps upward to meet the tip, giving a longer cutting profile and offering a generous curve to the belly reducing the area of contact for deep slicing action. The spine geometry is designed to put the mass of the knife “Center Tip” for thrusting deep. The full tang construction, black micarta grips, and custom pins continue the dark sturdy lines of this knife and add a subtle beauty to this back water brute. Whatever your adventure, the Black Cypress is up to the challenge and looks good doing it.
